About This Event

By December 1994, the Mothers for Peace Christmas market had become a beloved Toronto tradition. Now in its third year, Croatian women from across the city and surrounding areas once again gathered to host the Christmas Craft & Bake Sale at historic St. Lawrence Hall.

The event featured handmade crafts, artwork, and baked goods — along with a special new addition that year: handiwork created by refugee women from Slavonia and Bosnia, sent directly from Croatia for this occasion. Proceeds were devoted, as always, to humanitarian relief for the homeland, turning a festive community gathering into an enduring act of generosity and remembrance.
