About This Event

Held in late November 1991, the Croatian Hairstylist Cut-A-Thon was a day-long fundraising event that brought together Toronto-area hair professionals and community members in a spirit of generosity and creativity. From morning until late evening, hairstylists offered haircuts, blow-dries, and styling sessions to guests, with all proceeds donated to Croatian Food Relief.

The event transformed the Croatian Centre in Norval into a lively hub of music, food, and solidarity. More than a fundraiser, it became a celebration of community strength during one of Croatia’s darkest chapters, proving that compassion can take shape through even the simplest acts — a haircut, a smile, a shared purpose.
